At first glance I thought, "This is too bright", but now I see it is your decision to make this area of destruction seem almost cheery that makes this piece so great. The soft colors are in conflict with the textures from the broken awning and tree. It's jarring, but at the same time it is calm- like remembering a dark moment in history and coming to terms with it so that we can be at peace again.
